A Fun Christmas Movie Party

Posted by in -TV and Entertainment

If you want to throw a party for your friends or family around the holidays, why not skip the usual Christmas party activities and throw a movie party? This could be an inexpensive way to get your friends and family together for a day, and everybody will enjoy the holiday spirit that you get from watching your favorite Christmas movies.

It doesn’t matter what movies you choose, since there are so many Christmas favorites. Even adults sometimes enjoy watching the Charlie Brown Christmas special or How the Grinch Stole Christmas. This is especially true with a group of young adults. If you want to focus on full length movies, however, you need to decide whether you want to go for a “classic” Christmas theme or a more fun and funky theme. If you want to stick with the traditional heart-warming holiday movies, you might rent or buy the DVD or It’s a Wonderful Life or Miracle on 34th Street. If you want to go for a fresher, less traditional theme, you can watch National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation or Elf starring Will Ferrell. Actually, even though it is only just over twenty years old, Christmas Vacation is already starting to become considered a “classic” but funny Christmas movie, so you can work that movie into any theme. Other movies you might want to consider include Scrooge or A Christmas Carol (the 1951 version starring Alastair Sim is the best one). Of course, you may have your own favorite Christmas movie, so you may already know exactly what you watch. What you end up watching is less important than the fact that you are sharing it with your friends.

If you want to give your friends a real treat, watch Christmas Vacation and halfway through, pull out some Christmas Vacation Moose Mugs and serve them some eggnog in the mugs! These are the exact mugs used by the Griswold family in the movie, and your friends are sure to get a kick out of it!
