Why Should You Read Ancient History Books?

One of my biggest hobbies is reading Ancient history books. I like to read about how Julius Caesar conquered entire Gaul but failed to conquer Britain or Germania. I like to read about Emperor Augustus and his pax imperia. I also like to read how the Colosseum was build on a swamp and how the hell they did that. I also find it interesting to read how the Greeks were fighting the Persians but also fought themselves. A very interesting story is the story of King Leonidas and his brave battle on Thermopylae. And did you knew Marathon was named to the distance the entire Greek army had to run back to the city to defend Athens? It is well worth reading ancient history books as they are amazingly interesting
